Because most 1988-2001 Honda/Acura stabilizer bars share length and use a common lower-control-arm bolt, an Integra rear bar physically fits a Civic; the swap succeeds or fails on the supporting hardware. Plan to source the bar, Si subframe brackets, Si end links, matching rear lower control arms (88-95 Civic or 90-01 Integra), bushings, and several spare control-arm bolts as a set. The 96-2000 Civic subframe differs from the earlier cars, so verify parts against your exact year. USDM Integra Type R rear bars are 22mm; the JDM version is 23mm. After the swap, rear camber shifts by the roughly 1/16 inch control-arm length difference and must be corrected with a camber kit or washer shim, followed by a full alignment.
The Integra rear bar reaches the Civic mounting points because the two chassis share bar length and the same control-arm mounting bolt, but the bolt-on hardware does not carry over unchanged. Integra subframe brackets are cut for a different subframe depth and Integra end links miss the rear control-arm holes on a four-door Civic, so Si-spec subframe brackets and Si end links must be substituted. If Integra rear lower control arms are installed as well, only the subframe brackets need to be Si-spec. On 88-91 Civic/CRX the rear control-arm subframe bolt spacing runs about 1/32 inch tighter, so the holes are lightly reamed, and washers (or an OBX/ASR subframe brace) shim the difference in the subframe face. Non-Si 88-91 cars lack the rear body mounts entirely and require those mounts to be added.

Important Caveats

  • Rear control-arm bolts seize and snap in rust or road-salt climates; use penetrating oil and keep spares.
  • Front and rear bar rates must be matched to avoid sudden oversteer at the limit.
  • A 96-00 subframe bolts up differently than the pre-96 cars, so confirm fitment by year before buying.
  • Any rear control-arm swap requires a wheel alignment before hard driving.
