FitMyBuild started in a garage, not a boardroom. It's a community-driven database that answers one deceptively hard question every builder runs into: will this part actually fit my car? Engine swaps, suspension, brakes, drivetrain — the knowledge is scattered across forums, group chats and half-remembered threads. We're pulling it into one place that's searchable, verified, and free.

Why we're doing this
We're enthusiasts first. The site is built and maintained by people who spend their weekends under the hood — currently focused on Honda, with more platforms coming as the community grows. Every entry is here because someone actually did the work and wanted to save the next person the headache.
How verification works
A swap only appears on the site after a moderator has reviewed the submission. From then on, builders who have done the swap themselves can verify it from the swap page. Verifying needs a free FitMyBuild account, and each account can verify a given swap once.
A verification records whether the swap fit as described, fit with modifications, or did not fit. Only the first two count towards the “Verified by” number on a swap, and that number is recounted from those reports every time the site is updated. When nobody has verified a swap yet, we say so rather than show a number.
How we source guides
Some DIY guides are submitted directly by builders and reviewed before they are published. Others are adapted from community writeups on owner forums. An adapted guide names the original author and the forum, and links to the original thread, at the top of the guide. Where the follow-up discussion corrected the original, those corrections are folded in.
