Yes — the steering wheel and airbag from a 2000–2003 S2000 (AP1) fit a 1996–2000 Civic (EK) and the airbag plugs straight in. Honda-Tech's steering-wheel resource lists the 1996–2000 Civic and the 1999–2009 S2000 as 33-spline cars, and members say AP1 S2000 wheels fit and their airbags plug in. USDM RSX and EP3 Civic Si wheels fit the spline, but their airbags use a 3- or 4-wire connector (members differ) instead of the EK's two-wire SRS connector, so the airbag will not work in an EK.

Important caveats

  • Use an AP1 airbag; USDM RSX and EP3 Si airbags use a different multi-wire connector and do not plug into the EK's two-wire SRS connector.
  • Honda-Tech's resource warns that airbags are designed for the car they came in and may not behave the same in a crash in another car.
