A non-CR-V K24 requires the CR-V passenger-side engine mount to locate correctly; CR-V K24 engines already have it. Wiring uses an RSX Type-S 02-04 engine and charging harness with an RSX PRB 02-04 ECU on Hondata K-Pro (or a JDM ECU). K-Pro only recognizes the 02-04 RSX-S primary oxygen sensor; EP3 and 06+ Civic Si sensors do not work. Type-S injectors support roughly 250 hp on a stock head/block. The clutch slave cylinder mounts to the front of the transmission and is mandatory unless the donor transmission already includes one. Belt length depends on configuration: a K24 with no P/S or A/C uses a 52-inch 6-rib belt (Dayco #5060520); a K20 uses 50.5 inch; measure with string for any A/C combination. Shifter conversion uses a Karcepts mounting kit, RSX Type-S shifter box, and RSX-S 02-04 cables. The pilot bearing (22103-PNA-003) is required to center the transmission input shaft. Budget roughly $8,000-$10,000 for a complete swap.
The K-series does not bolt into an EG/EK/DC2 without adapter mounts from Hasport, Hybrid, or Avid and a plug-and-play harness conversion from Hasport, Hybrid, or Sparkks. The exhaust must be custom welded (2.5-3 inch). Axles must be made from RSX Base or RSX Type-S units with B-series outers and swapped inner joints for the EG. Retaining power steering on an EG requires cutting the hood for pulley clearance (Jackson Racing pulley 052-154 clears with cutting only, no hole) or deleting power steering entirely by looping or plugging the rack and fitting an EP3 idler pulley/bracket. A stock radiator needs a Hasport billet hose adapter to accept the B/D-series fan switch and coolant sensor, or an aftermarket radiator with fabricated mounts. The stock fuel rail and filter are adapted to -6 AN with converter fittings rather than replaced. Right-hand-drive EG cars additionally need different throttle cable, clutch line, revised wiring routing, and usually a welded rear mount support.

Important Caveats

  • The parts list is built around an EG and is approximately 95% applicable to EK and DC2; axles, belt length, and harness routing vary by chassis.
  • ITR 5-lug hubs may not accept EG swap axles because Integra and Civic hub sizes differ; confirm before buying.
  • The K20A3 is a weaker starting point than the K20A2 for performance builds.
  • Custom exhaust fabrication and, on some builds, hood cutting may raise engineering-certification or compliance concerns in inspected jurisdictions.
