Installation notes
Yes — the Recaro front seats from a JDM 2001–2005 Honda Civic Type R (EP3) fit a 1996–2000 Honda Civic (EK) when mounted on EK9 Civic Type R Recaro rails. An EK9.org member states that EK9 rails bolt straight onto both DC5 and EP3 Recaros. A Honda-Tech reply about JDM Type R seats in an EK says EK9 Recaro rails or Vision One Touch sliders made for the 1996–2000 Civic are all that is needed. An EK9.org owner who had EK9, JDM EP3 and DC5 cars rated the JDM EP3 Recaro as the least snug of the three.
Caution
Important caveats
- The EP3's own seat rails are not reported to fit the EK floor; use EK9 rails or EK-specific aftermarket sliders.
- The sources discuss the JDM EP3 Type R Recaros; seats from European-market EP3 Type Rs are not covered.
- Evidence is owner forum posts rather than a detailed install guide.
- None of the sources cover SRS or seatbelt sensor wiring, so check the donor seat's connectors before installing.
- No OEM part numbers were confirmed for this entry.
