Installation notes

Yes — the K20A2 engine and 6-speed transmission from a 2002-2004 RSX Type-S (DC5) fits a 1990-1993 Integra (DA) with a DA K-series mount kit, a cable-to-hydraulic clutch conversion and K-swap wiring. Hasport sells separate DA1 and DA2 versions of its kit depending on whether the car is a 90-91/92-93 GS-R or a 92-93 non-GS-R. Innovative sells matching 99351 and 99350 kits and states the transmission bracket requires welding. Hasport's dual-height system lets a K24 block sit with the head in the same place as a K20.

Required modifications

Engine mounts: a DA K-series kit. Hasport DA1K2 (90-91 Integra and 92-93 GS-R) or DA2K2 (92-93 non-GS-R) for RSX/02-11 Civic Si transmissions; Innovative 99351 (DA9 and 92-93 GS-R) or 99350 (92-93 non-GS-R). Innovative's transmission-side bracket only works with 2002+ Civic Si, RSX or Integra manual transmissions, and its self-locating bracket must be welded to the frame. Clutch: the DA is a cable-clutch chassis and the K-series gearbox is hydraulic; Innovative recommends its B/D/H/K cable-to-hydraulic actuator. A K24 block needs Honda engine bracket 11910-PPA-000 for the right-side mount. Also plan wiring/ECU, axles, shifter cables and cooling for the K-series.

Caution

Important caveats

  • Mount kits differ between the 90-91/92-93 GS-R and the 92-93 non-GS-R Integra; order by your exact car.
  • Both kits involve welding: Hasport says its DA1K kit requires cutting and welding, and Innovative says its self-locating transmission bracket must be welded to the frame.
  • The DA has a cable clutch, so the hydraulic K-series transmission needs a cable-to-hydraulic actuator or a hydraulic pedal setup.
  • Innovative describes the 92-93 non-GS-R DA9 as originally using a B18B, while Wikipedia lists the US 1992-1993 non-GS-R engine as the B18A1.
