K24Z7 engine and 6-speed (K-swap)
into CR-Z (from Civic Si)
Yes: the K24Z7 engine and 6-speed (K-swap) from the Civic Si (2012-2015) fits the CR-Z (2011-2016) — difficult difficulty, modifications required.
Installation notes
Required modifications
Swap mounts: Hasport ZFK kit, chosen by engine and transmission — ZFK1-20/ZFK1-24 for RSX and 02-11 Civic Si transmissions, ZFK2-20/-24 for 03-07 Accord and 04-08 TSX transmissions, ZFK3-20/-24 for 08-13 Accord, 09-14 TSX and 12-15 Civic Si transmissions. Hasport's dual-height design keeps the cylinder head in the same place for K20 or K24. Also needed: removal of the LEA hybrid engine and IMA system, a K-series engine harness and ECU solution integrated with the CR-Z chassis, axles to suit the chosen transmission, shifter cables, cooling, intake and exhaust.
Important caveats
- Hasport warns the rear brackets for TSX, Accord and 12-15 Civic Si transmissions do not work with US K24A1, K20A2, K20A3, K20Z1 or their JDM variants; this is not an issue with a K24Z engine.
- Neither vendor page specifies a wiring or ECU solution for the CR-Z chassis.
- Removing the LEA engine and IMA hybrid system means the hybrid-related electronics must be dealt with in the wiring plan; the vendor pages do not describe how.
