Hybrid Racing describes K-swapped S2000s as running a K20 or K24 through the F-series transmission. This swap is chosen mainly for the K24's extra displacement and torque compared with the F20C/F22C.

Required modifications

Engine mounts: Hasport APK2 (dual height; a K20 on the high setting keeps stock crank alignment, a K24 on the low setting keeps the head in the same place) or Innovative 90757 (K24 kit with front and passenger-side adapter plates); Innovative also sells a K20 kit and an OEM-position adapter kit. Transmission: the car keeps the S2000 F-series 6-speed; the clutch and flywheel must suit a K-series crank and the S2000 gearbox (Clutch Masters sells a K-swap S2000 kit, CLM-08K2F-HD00-A). Intake: a rear-wheel-drive K-series intake manifold is needed because the engine sits longitudinally. Also wiring/ECU, cooling, exhaust and accessory drive.

  • The Innovative K24 kit product text says "2000-2001 Honda S2000" while its title says 00-09; confirm AP2 fitment with the vendor.
  • The S2000 transmission is retained, so the clutch and flywheel must be K-crank-to-S2000-gearbox parts, not stock S2000 parts.
  • A rear-wheel-drive intake manifold is needed; Hybrid Racing pairs the Hasport kit with a KPower Industries manifold.
  • Hasport also lists rear differential mounts and ECU upgrades as related parts for this swap.
