The leather-wrapped automatic shift knob from a 2009-2012 Honda Fit (part# 08U92-TK6-110A) mounts to the CR-Z CVT shift tree using the same two-screw spacing as the factory knob, so it seats on the same splined tree and is retained by the two notches on the tree. The knob usually ships with its own screws. On the CR-Z the base is finished with a separate plastic cover plate (part# 54132-TF0-951ZA). Alternate Fit-family knobs are reported to work the same way, including a red-stitched version (part# 08U92-TF0-710A) and one (part# 08U92-SLN-100C) that integrates its trim and needs no separate cover. The knob's trigger/plunger operates the CVT shift release exactly as the stock unit does.

Important Caveats

  • Fitment hinges on the two-screw spacing matching the CR-Z shift tree; confirm with a cardboard template before buying an unlisted or junkyard knob.
  • Other Honda/Acura selector knobs (for example an Acura TSX unit) were raised in discussion but not confirmed to fit.
  • The shift-lock release behaviour is unchanged; the vehicle can still roll if the selector is moved out of Park without the parking brake set.
