DC5 Integra Type R 6-speed LSD transmission (K-swap)
into Civic EK
Yes: the DC5 Integra Type R 6-speed LSD transmission (K-swap) from the Integra Type R (2001-2006) fits the Civic EK (1996-2000) — difficult difficulty, modifications required.
Installation notes
Required modifications
Only for a Civic already being K-swapped. The documented EK build used Hasport EKK2 mounts with an EG/DC2 subframe, a factory DC5 Integra gearbox bracket, a DC5 Integra intermediate shaft (new from Honda) and Hasport EP-EGKAX conversion driveshafts. A DC5/RSX-type shifter box and cables are also needed; K-Tuned's DC5 Type R shifter box is listed for K-swapped EF, EG, EK and DC2 chassis. On EG/DC2 cars the Hasport EGK2 kit covers K20A-family transmission patterns.
Important caveats
- The Y2M3 transmission code comes from one build write-up; confirm the code on the case before buying.
- Mounts, subframe and axles must be chosen together: the documented build used Hasport EKK2 mounts with a DC2 Integra subframe, and axle sets differ between that layout and the stock EK subframe.
- The Hasport EGK2 product page lists K20A-family transmission patterns but does not name the DC5 Type R gearbox specifically.
- JDM DC5 Type R gearboxes are imported used units; check the LSD and synchros before fitting.
- No OEM part numbers were confirmed for this entry.
