Important Caveats
- • CR-V rods are weaker than TSX rods; keep the redline near 7500 RPM unless the bottom end is built.
- • The longer-stroke K24 moves the pistons faster than the RSX Type S does at 8600 RPM, so its safe rev ceiling is lower.
- • Timing marks will not align after the swap; set the crank to TDC and align them manually.
- • Blow all machining debris out of the block before assembly or the bearings will be destroyed.
- • Doing the labor yourself avoids roughly $2500 in shop labor, before parts and machine work.
