K24A1 engine with AWD manual transmission (K-swap)
into CR-V RD1 (from CR-V)
Yes: the K24A1 engine with AWD manual transmission (K-swap) from the CR-V (2002-2006) fits the CR-V RD1 (1997-2001) — difficult difficulty, modifications required.
Installation notes
Required modifications
Swap mounts: Hasport RD1KMAWD (K-series with 2002-2005/06 CR-V AWD manual transmission) or RD1KAAWD (AWD automatic). Both use the stock RD1 subframe with some subframe modification. Hasport states specialty shock forks from FCS Race are required to clear the axles. Axles: Hasport offers RD1 K-swap axles by email. Also needed: engine harness and ECU integration, cooling, exhaust and intake for the K-series, and matching the rear driveline to the 2nd-gen AWD transfer case.
Important caveats
- Hasport states the kit works only with the stock RD1 subframe and that some subframe modification is needed.
- Specialty shock forks from FCS Race are required for axle clearance; Hasport says modifying OEM forks is at the owner's risk.
- Hasport's page lists the donor transmission as 2002-2005 CR-V, while Hybrid Racing lists 2002-2006; confirm the gearbox year with Hasport.
- Hybrid Racing marks this kit as discontinued (June 2026), so availability may be limited.
