The Accord horn reuses the Fit's factory 12mm mounting bolt and plugs straight into the stock electrical connector, so it is effectively plug-and-play once the bracket is repositioned. Two punched ridges behind the hood latch act as alignment guides; seat the repositioned bracket between them and the horn sits roughly level. The mounting bolt doubles as the ground path, so the horn will not sound until it is bolted to the chassis. Access requires removing the engine-bay bulkhead cover (eight clips) and the plastic hood-latch cover.
No cutting of the vehicle is required, but the horn's own mounting bracket must be re-clocked to fit correctly. Loosen the 10mm bolt at the rear of the Accord horn body (often very stiff, and easiest with the bracket held in a vice), rotate the bracket so the horn hangs upright, then retighten. The upright orientation matters so moisture does not collect inside the horn. To reach the factory connector comfortably, cut only the electrical tape that bundles the Fit's horn wire to an adjacent harness to gain a little slack; do not nick the wires.

Important Caveats

  • This is a tone change, not a loudness upgrade: multiple owners measured the Accord horn as lower in decibels and lower in frequency than the stock Fit horn, with the rating stamped on the bracket.
  • Verify the part number: at least one buyer received a horn identical in size and decibel rating to the stock Fit horn, so confirm 38100-STK-A02 against the original before installing.
  • The horn must be mounted upright to keep water and debris out.
  • The horn is grounded through its mounting bolt and will not function while loose.
