The HaSport EKK1 96-00 mount kit bolts to the EK factory mount locations with no drilling (EG chassis may differ). Torque the passenger-side plate to 43 lb-ft and the driver-side plate to 33 lb-ft; HaSport lists no figure for the rear transmission plate (43 lb-ft was used). Shim any gap at the rear transmission mount with the supplied spacer or washers before tightening or the plate will bend. Required extras: plug-and-play conversion harness, a K-series ECU (Type R PRC used here), K-series header for 88-00 Civic, K20 fuel rail with a fuel pressure regulator, radiator hose adapter with fan switch and temp sender port, and a manual conversion pedal/master-cylinder set. Confirmed axle recipe with these mounts: on the driver side, an RSX Type-S inner and shaft plus a B-series outer CV joint; on the passenger side, an RSX Type-S inner, a 92+ Prelude shaft (VTEC recommended), and a B-series outer CV joint. Compressed axle lengths in the hub: passenger 22.5", driver 24". An OEM EK radiator works once the brackets are relocated. The clutch inhibitor/pedal-position sensor wiring on an ex-automatic in-cabin harness was left unresolved in the thread.
This is a fabrication-heavy transplant. An automatic EK must first be converted to a manual pedal box: swap in a manual brake pedal, install the clutch pedal and bracket, pass a clutch master cylinder through the firewall, and run a custom clutch line (both cylinder ports are 1/8", adapted via a 10mm x 1.0-to-4AN fitting to a no. 4 steel-braided line). The radiator and A/C condenser brackets must be cut free by drilling their spot welds and relocated to opposite sides, spacing the radiator brackets about 15.5 inches apart. Because EKK1 mounts move the engine forward, the factory cooling fans no longer fit; a slim electric fan mounts ahead of the cores and the core needs a fabricated cushion/support. Axles are a mixed combination that must be assembled from multiple donors. The RSX throttle cable bracket may need to be bent to open the throttle body fully. A Karcepts shifter kit avoids firewall drilling for the RSX shifter cables.

Important Caveats

  • Leaving the passenger axle short (RSX inner and shaft only) lets the inner-joint roller bearings pop out under throttle, cornering, or suspension travel; use the 92+ Prelude shaft.
  • Attempting to run D-series outer CV joints on RSX Type-S inners does not work; B-series outers are required.
  • EKK1 mounts eliminate room for the factory radiator/A/C fans and the core's OEM cushioning, requiring a slim fan and fabricated core support.
  • Do not torque the rear transmission mount without shimming the gap first.
  • Verify emissions compliance and engineering certification for an engine transplant in your jurisdiction before road use.
