Installation notes
Yes — an OBD1 manual ECU from a 1992–1995 Integra GS-R (P72, or the earlier P61) fits a 2000–2001 Integra (DC2) with an OBD2B-to-OBD1 ECU jumper harness. SpeedFactory lists its OBD2B jumper (SF-01-042) for 1999–2000 Civic and CR-V and 2000–2001 Integra, Accord and Prelude, accepting 1992–1995 manual ECUs such as the P28, P30, P72 and P08. The P61 is not named on that page, though SpeedFactory's OBD2A jumper page lists it. Moates lists the P61 and P72 as the 1992–1995 Integra GS-R ECUs and says 1996–2001 cars are converted by plugging an OBD1 ECU in through a conversion harness. The same jumper lets a 1999–2000 Civic run an OBD1 ECU.
Caution
Important caveats
- Manual-transmission ECUs only; automatic OBD1 ECUs are not supported by the jumper.
- The OBD2B jumper is a different part from the 1996–1998 OBD2A jumper; check your car's year before buying.
- The vendor page lists the Integra as 2000–2001 only; it does not confirm 1999 Integras, so check which ECU plugs your car has.
- The ECU must be chipped or fitted with a tuning device and tuned for the engine. Hondata's s300 supports the P72 but not the P61.
- 1999–2000 Civic CX/DX/EX/HX use an 8-pin distributor plug and are not compatible with the SpeedFactory distributor jumper.
