Installation notes
Yes — the front calipers, caliper brackets and rotors from a 2002–2006 Acura RSX Type-S (DC5) fit a 2001–2005 Honda Civic (ES/EM2) that has already been converted to 5-lug with base RSX knuckles. Two 7th-gen Civic parts-list guides both list RSX Type-S front calipers with Type-S caliper brackets as the brake upgrade on top of the base RSX knuckles. They also both say you need wheels of at least 16 inches to clear the bigger calipers.

Required modifications
Do this after the RSX 5-lug conversion (base RSX front knuckles). Fit RSX Type-S front calipers with RSX Type-S front caliper brackets, Type-S front rotors, brake hoses and brake dust shields. Check the seals on used calipers; one guide recommends new brake lines. Bleed the system and fit wheels of at least 16 inches.
Caution
Important caveats
- You need 16-inch or larger wheels to clear the RSX Type-S front calipers. Both guides say so.
- This upgrade sits on top of the 5-lug conversion. The calipers and brackets mount to the RSX knuckle, not the stock 4-lug Civic knuckle.
- Check the seals on used calipers. One guide recommends new brake lines; the other lists the Type-S front brake hoses as part of the swap.
- Neither guide gives RSX model years for the Type-S calipers. No OEM part numbers were confirmed.
- Brake balance: norcalem2 suggests also fitting the RSX Type-S brake booster, master cylinder and proportioning valve, while other posters say they aren't needed. Have the finished system checked and bled properly before road use.
