J32A3 V6 engine and 6-speed transmission
into Civic EG (from TL)
Yes: the J32A3 V6 engine and 6-speed transmission from the TL (2004-2008) fits the Civic EG (1992-1995) — difficult difficulty, modifications required.
Installation notes
Required modifications
Engine mounts: Hasport EGJ1 (fixed height) or EGJ2 (dual height, lets the very tall J-series sit under the hood), or Innovative 80150/80151 (with or without an alternator relocator). Hasport says engine bay modifications are needed before the kit becomes bolt-in. Transmission: Hybrid Racing's listing pairs the Hasport kits with the 6-speed manuals from the 03-07 Accord V6 and 04-08 TL, and notes some engine/transmission combinations need modification. Also wiring/ECU, axles, shifter, cooling, fuel and exhaust sized for a V6.
Important caveats
- Wikipedia notes the 2007-2008 TL J32A3 has a revised bellhousing; confirm engine and transmission years match.
- Hasport says engine bay modifications are required before the J-series kit bolts in.
- The J-series is very tall; Hasport's EGJ2 dual-height kit exists to fit it under the hood.
- The 2007-2008 TL Type-S used the 3.5 L J35A8, not the J32A3.
