Vendors sell K-swap axles built to join the RSX-style intermediate shaft to the Civic/Integra hubs. Hybrid Racing's OE-replacement K-swap axles are rated around 300–350 whp, while Driveshaft Shop's X4 set is rated to 700 hp and requires a K20 RSX or EP3 Civic Si intermediate shaft. Mighty Car Mods' K-swapped EK used Hasport EP-EGKAX driveshafts with a new DC5 Integra intermediate shaft.

Required modifications

Use the intermediate shaft from a K20 RSX or EP3 Civic Si (some axle sets also list K20A2, K20A3, K20Z1, K20Z3, K24A1, K24A2 and K24A4/A8 shafts) with a K-swap axle set made for EG/EK/DC chassis. Match the axle set to the mount kit and subframe: for example, Driveshaft Shop lists 510081/510084 for an EG/DC subframe with Hasport EKK2 mounts and 510083/510086 for a stock EK subframe with EKK1 mounts. Factory 26-spline hubs are retained.

  • The axles themselves are aftermarket; only the intermediate shaft is an OEM donor part.
  • Axle sets are specific to the mount brand and subframe (EG/DC subframe vs stock EK subframe), so order to match your mounts.
  • Vendors state these K-swap axles are not replacement axles for an RSX, CR-V, Element or Civic Si.
