Important Caveats
- • For spirited or track driving, the stock proportioning valve may allow the rear discs to lock because discs require less line pressure than the original drums; a proportioning valve or a careful balance check is advised. Street users report acceptable balance.
- • Reman calipers (e.g. Centric) tend to develop surface rust quickly; wire-brush and paint before installing.
- • Aggressive pad compounds wore rapidly on the lightly loaded rear axle in street use; a daily-driver compound such as Centric Premium Ceramic is more suitable.
- • EP3 Civic Si rear discs are an alternative of the same size (matching the DC2R 10.2 in rotor) but require matching parking-brake cable and caliper styles.
