Installation notes

Yes — the H22A1 engine and manual transmission from a 1993-1996 Prelude VTEC (BB1) fits a 1994-2001 Integra (DC2) with an EG/DC H-series mount kit, the Prelude H-series post mount and swap-length axles. Hasport lists its EGH3 kit for F- or H-series engines in the 92-95 Civic, 94-97 del Sol and 94-01 Integra. Innovative sells an equivalent kit for the EG and DC and notes A/C and power steering can be kept.

Required modifications

Engine mounts: Hasport EGH3 (left, right and rear mounts plus right and rear brackets; the rear engine bracket is included because nothing usable carries over from the Prelude) or Innovative 29550 (EG/DC H-series kit). Innovative requires the 92-01 Prelude H-series timing-belt post mount (Honda 11910-P13-000) and a rear T-bracket from a 90-93 Accord DX/LX or 92-96 Prelude (or its own 59630 bracket). Innovative says A/C and power steering can be retained with its kit. Also H-swap axles, wiring/ECU, shift linkage, cooling, fuel and exhaust.

Caution

Important caveats

  • Innovative says the Accord EX rear T-bracket will not work; use the 90-93 Accord DX/LX or 92-96 Prelude bracket, or its aftermarket replacement.
  • The Innovative kit needs the Prelude H-series timing-belt post mount (11910-P13-000).
  • H-swap axles of the correct length are required; stock Integra and Prelude axles do not fit.
  • The H22 is heavier than the B18 it replaces, which changes front weight and handling balance.
  • Hybrid Racing says the Hasport EGH3 install requires drilling and fabrication (drilling spot welds, frame-rail modification and transmission clearance) and is not a pure bolt-in.
