L15B7 1.5 L turbo engine
into Civic EG (from Civic Si)
Yes: the L15B7 1.5 L turbo engine from the Civic Si (2017-2020) fits the Civic EG (1992-1995) — difficult difficulty, modifications required.
Installation notes
Required modifications
Engine mounts: Hasport EGLT2 (dual height; choose ground clearance or a lower position to clear the hood). Hasport says some engine bay modifications are needed and the stock transmission bracket must be cut off the frame rail; the kit works in auto and manual chassis and Hasport also lists axles and swap accessories. Engine management, wiring, intercooler piping, fuel system and transmission shifting are separate projects that the mount kit does not cover.
Important caveats
- Hasport says the stock transmission bracket must be cut off the frame rail.
- Both sources describe the same Hasport product; no independent build guide was found.
- Engine management for the L15B7 in an older chassis is not covered by either source.
- Hybrid Racing lists the donor years as 2017-2021; the 10th-generation Civic Si was sold for 2017-2020 in the US.
