The kit mixes chassis: the front lip is the Wings West CL Type R piece, which fits the CL directly, while the side skirts and rear valance come from the Accord catalog. The Accord side skirts do not bolt to the CL body directly; they slide over the factory CL side skirts (which stay on the car) and are held by the door tab plus four self-tapping screws per side, two in each wheel-well area. The rear valance is fixed with 3/4-inch 3M double-sided tape and screws, two per wheel well and four to five underneath. As mounted, the skirts sit noticeably lower than the front and rear pieces (roughly 4.5 inches deep), so the front lip is typically angled downward at the wheel wells to bring the three pieces into line.
The Accord W-Type side skirts (parts 890149L and 890149R) are molded for a four-door Accord and carry two mounting tabs each; the CL uses only the forward tab, so the rear tab must be cut off on both skirts, leaving about one inch of material so the cut stays hidden at the rear quarter panel. The Accord rear valance (part 890265) needs an opening cut for the exhaust tip, or the lip bent up and around it. The skirt bodies themselves are not lengthened or shortened.

Important Caveats

  • The side skirts hang lower than the front and rear lips; expect to angle the front lip down at the wheel wells to make the kit line up visually.
  • Ground clearance drops significantly, and the factory jack may be the only one that clears the skirts for later service.
  • Size the rear exhaust cutout to your actual tip; a cutout made for a wide aftermarket exhaust can leave a stock tip looking sunken, and an undersized one will rub.
