Installation notes
Yes — the front knuckles and brakes from a 1999-2003 Acura TL (UA5) fit a 1998-2002 Honda Accord (CG) and give a 5-lug conversion with larger 11.8-inch front rotors. In a 6thGenAccord thread, l1nd3n moved a 2001 Accord EX 4-cylinder to 2002 TL knuckles, rotors and calipers all round, plus the TL master cylinder and booster. In a separate DIY, the owner fitted 2003 TL Type-S front knuckles, pads, rotors and calipers to a 4-cylinder Accord, paired with Accord V6 rear brakes. The 'Brake Upgrade Options' thread also names the 2nd-gen TL brakes with TL knuckles as an upgrade.
Caution
Important caveats
- This changes the bolt pattern to 5x114.3, so 4-lug wheels no longer fit.
- Buy the ABS/speed sensors and parking-brake cables with the donor parts; reusing the old ones caused problems for l1nd3n.
- l1nd3n later fitted RL-sized pads to Legend calipers, and they were too wide for the TL rotor and wore a groove; use pads matched to the TL rotor.
- Front and rear rotor sizes change, so check brake balance (master cylinder/proportioning valve) after the swap.
