Installation notes

Yes — the OEM rear wing from a 1997–2001 Integra Type R (DC2) bolts onto a 1994–2001 Integra GS-R or LS hatchback (DC2) using the existing holes, with no drilling. Honda-Tech members say the GS-R hatch has the same mounting holes plus a few extra, so two holes are left exposed and must be plugged or welded. Because the GS-R wing carries the third brake light, removing it means adding a separate third brake light.

Required modifications

The Type R wing uses four hatch holes (two each side); the GS-R/LS wing uses six, including a hole of about 1 inch for the wing brake-light wiring and a smaller one of about 3/8 inch. Plug the exposed holes (one owner used 7/8-inch and 7/16-inch nylon plugs with clear silicone) or weld them shut. Fit with double-sided tape and four 10 mm nuts.

Caution

Important caveats

  • Two holes are left exposed on the hatch, including the roughly 1-inch brake-light wiring hole; seal them to keep water out.
  • The GS-R wing's built-in third brake light is lost; fit a separate one (owners suggest one from an RS).
  • Hatches that never had a wing will need holes drilled; the sources only cover hatches with a factory wing.
  • Members say aftermarket replica Type R wings do not fit as well as the OEM part.
